One of a kind, Kaleidoscoped

Some see these “One Block Wonder” (Maxine Rosenthal)  quilts as simply ‘stack and whacks’, but I see them as exciting, one of a kind kaleidoscoped quilts.

I love that these quilt are created simply from 6 or 8 repeats of one fabric. Fabric selection is key, but even if two quilters began with the same fabric it would be almost impossible to make two quilts exactly the same. There are simply too many design decisions that take place along the way that cumulatively make each kaleidoscoped quilt unique.

Below are two of my favorite Kaleidoscoped quilts. To read the story behind these two quilts and to see all my kaleidoscoped quilts, click on Wonderfully Kaleidoscoped under Sue’s Quilt Gallery in the right hand column.
