Reborn quilt included in The Cherrywood Challenge 2023 book and poster, Monarch.

Blue Ridge – Outback the Shenandoah quilt included in Clarke’s Great Outdoors book, launched October 5th, 2018 with a book signing and art show at The Barns of Rose Hill. Sales of the book benefit The Piedmont Environmental Council, a Virginia organization devoted to promoting and protecting the Piedmont area’s rural economy, natural resources, history, and beauty. Clarke’s Great Outdoors book is a collection of photos, artwork, and writing from more than 80 artists inspired by nature in Clarke County, VA.

I Spy – Family Traditions article in November 2017 issue of American Quilter magazine, featuring I Spy With My Little Eye quilt.

JURIED CHALLENGES

Quilt: “C”entennial Sea, selected as one of the Hoffman 100th Anniversary Challenge quilts.
11/20/2023 Today, I got the good news… Jean, curator of the Hoffman 100 Year Challenge, wrote to say, “I am thrilled to inform you that your submission has been chosen by our esteemed judges to be featured in our upcoming traveling show for the year 2024. This year has been particularly captivating with an abundance of exceptional entries, making this the largest traveling exhibit in the last ten years.
Your unique artwork will play a significant role in shaping this extraordinary showcase!
As we embark on the next phase, we will carefully curate your piece as part of a captivating 20-piece collection that will journey across the country, making appearances at various guilds and shows. The Road to California Show in Ontario, CA, scheduled for January 17-20, 2024, plans to showcase the complete collection.”

Quilt: Reborn, selected as one of the the 225 finalists included in the Cherrywood Hand-Dyed Fabrics 2023 Monarch Challenge. Finalist quilts published in a commemorative Monarch book and featured on a poster of the exhibit. Reborn will make its debut at the Quilt Festival in Houston, TX in November 2023, and then travel throughout the United States in 2024 with the Caterpillar Collection.

Quilt: Visions of Vincent, selected as one of the 120 finalists included in the Cherrywood Hand-Dyed Fabrics 2017 Van Gogh Challenge, French Gallery. Finalist quilts published in a commemorative Van Gogh book and featured on a poster of the exhibit.  As a group, The French Gallery collection of Van Gogh quilts travel for over a year, and exhibit at quilt shows in the United States and internationally.

JURIED EXHIBITIONS

Quilt: Autumn Song, selected for inclusion in ShenArts Members “Song for Autumn” Exhibition along with an accompanying Haiku poem written for the occasion and will hang together in the Museum of the Shenandoah Valley found at 901 Amherst Street in Winchester, VA from September 10th through November 10th, 2024.
This exhibition was inspired by Mary Oliver’s poetry. Through visual art and poetry, this exhibition seeks to capture the essence of the season.

Quilts: Perspective and On Eagles Wings were selected by the Beckley Art Center (Beckley, WV) for inclusion in their 2023 Juried Art Exhibition from June 16th through July 22nd, 2023.

Quilts: Van Gogh Fractured, Fractured Floral #13, and Pops of Paradise were selected by the Beckley Art Center (Beckley, WV) for inclusion in their Les Fleurs Exhibition from May 5th through June 10th, 2023.

Quilts: Currents, Breath of Fresh Air 2, and Perspectives selected by the Barns of Rose Hill for their Art Exhibition in celebration of Berryville, Virginia’s 225th Anniversary, from April 1-19, 2023. Perspectives earned 3rd place in the Adult 3D Category.

Quilt: Wonder, selected by ShenArts for inclusion in the Visionaries Exhibition held in the Museum of the Shenandoah from October 18, 2022 through January 15th, 2023. Visionaries is a collection of works by member artists who, informed by both the past and present, turn their imagination toward the possibilities of the future.

Quilt: Fractured Floral #3, selected by the Old Town Development Board and the Shenandoah Arts Council jury for the 2016 Artscape Banner Project in Old Town Winchester, VA and hung in the Museum of the Shenandoah’s Art in the Halls Artscape Originals Exhibition from April 19 through July 17th 2016. Sponsored by Lord Fairfax Community College, this quilt’s banner hung at the north end of Winchester’s Old Town Walking Mall from April 2016 through April 2017.
