Piece and comfort for the eyes, heart, and soul.

Cross Stitch

My first cross-stitch endeavor was on printed linen as a young girl, but years later it was the designs counted on fabric that drew me back to cross-stitch. I began counting cross stitch designs on the typical 14, 16, 18 count Aida (even Fiddlers Cloth) and 22 count Hardanger, but moved on to 18 count Davos and a variety of Floba cloths, Luguna and Linen… all kinds of Linens. Sometimes I counted and stitched over two threads, yet in other pieces I counted and stitched over one thread. These are in this artist’s private collection.

I like the challenge of recreating antique samplers, awing all the while at the original artist’s creativity and expertise on the tiniest of fabric counts.
